The MDW-1 was designed to provide the minimum necessary functions of an MD deck with the minimum amount of operation. Two optical digital inputs are provided on the rear panel, and 20-bit Delta-Sigma conversion D/A and A/D converters are used for recording and playback with minimal distortion and noise. The design is consistent with that of the Westboro series, making it easy to adapt to the same series (WBS-1EX, WBS-3EX, WBS-5EX, PLS-1310), and the basic functions of MD decks, such as sampling rate converter, song editing, and title input, are also enhanced.
